Today it mostly snowed.

Today it snowed and snowed and snowed.

We skied in high winds, and horizontal snow. Visibility was almost nil, it was difficult, disorientating and almost impossible at times to know what was down and what was up, as the contours disappear in the whiteout. We stayed low and skied the few runs that stayed open.

We sought shelter in a bar and drank vin chaud in mid afternoon while the icicles in our hair thawed out and then stumbled home to drink copious cups of tea and huge slices of gooey cake.

More than 30 cms of snow had fallen whilst we had been skiing, bringing the village to a standstill.
