Bury St Edmnds Cloisters
It was a chilly but very bright day today and I met a friend from the village and went for lunch at the Cathedral Refectory in Bury St Edmunds. This was especially nice because on Monday we had both been to a talk about the building of the Cathedral Millennium Tower. I took so many photos it was a hard job deciding which was my favourite. This one is of the cloisters at the entrance to the Refectory. It has a lovely warm feeling with the leaded windows , stonework and wooden ceiling.
After a lovely lunch we headed off for a walk around the Abbey Gardens and there were lots of grey squirrels running around chasing one another across the paths and flower beds. There were lots of ducks being fed and as many seagulls looking for remaining crumbs.
Having grown up in Bury it is always lovely to go back for a walk round but since the new shopping centre has opened, there are now lots of closed shops and the town feels a bit bleak.
