IMPERMANENCE
To Glasgow this morning to buy fabric for new cushion covers - I prefer online shopping, but so far the internet does not allow you to feel the fabric, so it had to be a trip to Mandors. The City Centre is in such a state of change - as per usual. One is tempted to regret the buildings that have gone but the gaps that have been created open up new prospects. This is St Alyosisus RC Church, delightfully rubbing shoulders with the Garnethill Multicultural Centre and framed by the iron work around the Macintosh School of Art steps. And before you feel sad about what has disappeared, it was a rather nasty 60s office block.
I still feel very self conscious using my camera in public spaces, but people are so polite and helpful and the genuine art students entering the School of Art didn't seem to notice me at all.
