Drips and drops

Not ventured over the door today as I was working from home and although it was dry there was a bit of a brrr in the air. So I have been playing with water today.

In other news I finally managed to arrange insurance for Jakes trip to the U.S. at the end of the month. This proved to be a long and rather tedious/amusing process. The first place gave me an online quote of £14.90 but as it was a junior you had to call to place an order. I duly called and after having given the relevant info she asked medical stuff. Had the boy been to the docs in the last 6 months and received meds. Yes said I he had a pulled muscle and got ibuprofen gel. Right says she, that will be another £10 on the premium, bringing your total quote to £44. Err I dont think so....it was a pulled muscle not a life threatening emergency op or anything

So next place, same scenario.
The major concern is that he is going on a trip with a football club.
Is it professional? No - he is 12, he will not be paid for playing during the trip.
Is it competitve. Its football......No I say, friendly matches, an exchange visit to learn about another culture.
Is he playing any other sport. No, see above
What else is he doing while he is away? A edge of sarcasm was now drifting into my tone. Shall I read you the itinerary? Yes please she said.

Well I had last skimmed through it a few months ago and could barely remember what they were doing each day so I read it out verbatim. At the mention of a visit to the crocodile centre, I heard a sharp intake of breath on the other end of the receiver.....

When I had finished detailing the trip she was right in there "Will Jake be having any interaction with the crocodiles at the centre?"

Well lemme think.....

Can you imagine what would have happened to the premium if I had said yes??
