I bought a pedometer at the weekend, as a bit of a motivator for getting a bit more excercise. Even before the first 24 hours, and 10,000 steps were up I'd managed to put it trough a full cycle in my washing machine and then to lose the back bit which covers the battery. It's still working though, thanks to the endurance of Japanese engineering, and I'm still off walking, even more than I normally would.
