The Dancer
Today my book club met at M's house. I'm not used to so much sunshine and blue sky this time of year here -it's a bit unnerving, actually. This is the steel sculpture in front of her house, called "Dancer " by Ron Anderson. M developed and maintains a website that lists all the outdoor art in Seattle what she can photograph. Check it out if you are interested. Seattle outdoor art
The books discussed today were "The Paris Wife", by Paula McLain and "A Moveable Feast" by Ernest Hemingway, both about the young Hemingways in Paris in that wonderful expat creative time in the 1920s-- His version and her version of the time and the people they knew. There is a new version of A Moveable Feast that is a bit controversial, edited by Hemingway's grandsons. And The Paris Wife is a sad love story, fiction, but all based on true facts from Hadley's perspective. Either one might make you want to go to Paris as soon as possible. :-)
