And btw although I am thrilled to have this little widget to make knitted cord I am deeply perturbed that I had to buy this thing as I do not have a single wooden cotton reel in the house....neither could I recall the last time I even saw a real wooden cotton reel.

My dad used to bang nails into the reels for me, and I suppose he must have taught me how to do french knitting when i was small and had Cindy Dolls who needed scarves to wear.
