River Moness
A quiet, calm day with some blue sky and a nip in the air! I went to a favourite place - the Birks of Aberfeldy for a walk. Very few cars in the car park which was surprising.
This photo is the first one I took and it is of the River Moness flowing under the first bridge you come to. The walk is uphill and steep in places but you stop so often to admire the waterfalls that you can catch your breath quite easily! When you reach the top you stand on a wooden bridge on top of the Falls of Moness, today gushing with water and making a terrific sound.
It's a magical place to walk. If you haven't been there, go, but be sure to keep very active and inquisitive dogs on a lead!
My favourite return route is down Urlar Road as it gives you the most amazing views of the surrounding hills which include Ben Lawers and the town of Aberfeldy, where you can have a reviving coffee in the restored mill while browsing the books and art works on display.
