Patiently waiting.....
Red at night certainly turned into shepherd's delight today with a fine winter's cocktail of a cool temperature sweetened by a cobalt blue sky and sunshine.
This morning the quilting class resumed after the holiday and we enjoyed a good catch up blether, coffee and some sewing. Later we resumed our chat in a local restaurant for our post-Christmas lunch, having decided in December that there were too many other competing events so we would save ourselves something to look forward to.
By the time I returned to the dogs I think they had all but given up on me, so were delighted when I quickly changed into walking clobber and attached their collars and leads. When we started the walk the sun had already started to sink and was casting lovely long shadows in the wood, highlighted by slivers of sunlight as it filtered between branches. Both Cara and Bruce were ecstatic about being let loose at last and charged off with tails wagging furiously. Spoilt for choice with the soft afternoon light I eventually chose this blip of Cara as she stands alert, patiently waiting for Bruce to join her while he, meantime, has his nose in yet another rabbit hole! It was getting near dusk as we finished the walk but it didn't matter as it had been a rare treat to be outside on such a fresh and dry evening.
Thank you for the stars and heart for last night's sunset which was responsible for this lovely day.
