A gorgeous warm sun streamed in through the window this afternoon. Uncharacteristically mild for a January in Scotland.

In other breaking news - We've gone nuts and cancelled our Sky TV subscription. Having reached day 13 of the "Sky dish breaking, no TV" saga, we decided that we love the peace of not goggling at the telly all night. Even the kids are more chilled. So it's a world of reading, listening to music and talking with the backup of BBC iplayer and catch up tv for emergency film watching.

We'll see how long it lasts!
