Evening-time Rearranging

This year we put the Christmas tree in a different place to normal, and were forced to move the furniture to new and exciting locations. We decided it worked like that, and so at 8pm on a weeknight Dad and I commenced rearranging the whole tv/stereo/cd/dvd/vinyl/cassette/random-trinket cabinet set up to better suit the new seating arrangements. Currently Dad's preparing his instruments of drillage to make new cable holes in the cabinets, so I've left the room.

I'm quite excited, a friend from my 2005 exchange in Austria is coming to visit me next week. I haven't seen her since 2005, so who knows how we've both changed, but she's 'doing' Australia/Asia, and we're her first stop! So I spent today giving the guest room a thorough clean, and will continue that tomorrow - it used to be my brother's room, and still has stacks of his stuff throughout, so making it as welcoming while not throwing out important things is the key.

But now I think I hear my friend at the door, had better go and feed her apricot crumble (Stephanie Alexander's recipe today, with ginger in the crumble - brilliant idea!), and all that jazz. Till tomorrow!
