How Many Pebbles....
Can one 11 month old baby stick in her mouth?
Went for a wander down Old Portsmouth this afternoon to clear out some cobwebs and enjoy a fresh Spring like day. As per usual, Oliver wanted to go off exploring, leaving poor Emma 'holding the baby'. Emma disappeared with Megan and re-appeared further down the beach with both relaxing on the shingle. I say relaxing rather loosely as Megan was trying her best to stuff the pebbles into her mouth, whilst Emma did her best to stop Megan's cheeky antics. Needless to say, Emma won the battle, but not before Megan decided she needed a sleep.
After a hasty retreat off the beach and back into the pram, it didn't take too long to cajoule Megan to sleep. Impressed with her efforts (I was dragged away by Oliver to explore), Emma suggested a nice drink in the nearby Clarence Pub. This had the added bonus of an indoor play area, where Oliver could have a play while Megan slept, and Emma and I could enjoy a drink in peace. Moments after arriving, and Oliver demanding a two course banquet near to Megan's pram.... Well, you can imagine what happened next!
We didn't bother with a drink, and Oliver didn't get his banquet, or his playtime after all. Shame, because otherwise, it was a nice afternoon.
