edit..The local rescue and several volunteer fire department teams spent most of the day doing a " burn"- that is burning an old house for the practice and experience. Little did they know that their night would be extended...
In Vermont sometimes the snowy weather turns into what they call "greasy" roads a combination of snow, slush, and ice, just thin enough to be major driving trouble. The other issue is that from one mile to another the roads and change from being passable to deadly. This is what happened here to a young girl that I work with. She was headed home, hit a patch of "grease" and ended up in a ditch; the car backwards, on its' side and just a few feet from going into the cold lake waters. She was very lucky as she only ended up with a concision, some bumps and bruises... and a memory that will not soon be forgotten.
