am slightly preoccupied with the total unreliability of eating out in scotland as am currently entertaining three french visitors. we have had a very fine curry, and a visit to a couple of great glasgow cafes but we have also had some shockingly bad food - some of the worst at Drumlanrig castle which we went to for lunch on the way back from Dumfriesshire and at Loch Lomond. Really embarrassing.

frenchboy happily reunited with his mum and dad - nearly 2 weeks with a family he barely knows, the longest he's spent away from home, in a country where he's still mastering the language - he's done brilliantly.
