Been a fabulous, relaxed but fabulous, Saturday. We had a slower start to the day, just pootling round at home. We met a friend mid morning and went for coffee at the garden centre. Katie wanted to go see the pretties and we picked a few sale Christmas decorations for next Christmas.

It was then her swimming lesson. She was delighted to be back after a week's break and was chucking herself in so excitedly. We did lots of underwater stuff today - she was doing great swooping for her fish rings, swimming under the big hoops and having fun doing lots of bubbles and chasing.

After swimming we all went for an afternoon out. We went to a ceramic painting centre. On the website, it had said it usually takes around 2hours. I had said I didnt think Katie would stick at it for 2 hours. I was wrong. We were there almost exactly 2 hours. She spent ages doing the photo frame I'd picked for her to decorate. Then she did lots of painting on the palette tiles they had, including a couple of extra spares they let her just doodle on. She painted both her arms. She painted some of our friend's, some of mine. They were so helpful - they brought her a booster seat, extra printers and sponges, extra palette tiles, nothing was too much trouble as they could see she was having a fabulous time. She's done a fabulous job on her frame, and I then added her name. I did her a name plaque for her room, so we cant wait to go back and collect them.

We popped into a couple of shops before going for a yummy chinese. Katie remembered being there before, and having jelly for pudding, so as soon as she was sat down she was asking for jelly! She's recently taken to saying "do you mind if...." so was saying "do you mind if please may I have jelly". She also likes asking "do you like..." and kept asking "Mummy, do you like crackers... do you like pineapple... do you like jelly?" She sat well for a long time, then had a little wander round to a table with some other small children, then sat again playing with a Thomas the Tank Engine playdoh, before falling asleep in the car on the way home.
