Poor Lauren and Tom woke up this morning to find their street was a river. They have only owned their house for two months and have worked non stop transforming it into a beautiful home ready for the arrival if their first child in a few weeks.

It was still raining and the level was rising and in the absence of sand bags - they stacked bags of rock salt in front of the door. Steve did an emergency run to the local outdoors store to get them both some wellies before Lauren ruined her Ugg boots! He managed to access the house on foot round the back.

There was no way a vehicle was getting through this flood but as luck would have it - Tom had just bought a land rover complete with snorkel for some off roading. It had a flat tyre so he managed to do an underwater wheel change so he could get Lauren to her midwife appointment this afternoon.

Amazingly her blood pressure was fine - as was little Harry who was probably oblivious to the adventure his mum and dad were having!

Happy to say they kept the water out of the house so all is well!
