The Sidlaws
We woke up to glorious sunshine and decided to head off to the Sidlaws. These hills now intrigue me on a daily basis as they are clearly visibile when I drive across the bridge. For many, many years the view was blocked by the flats which were demolished in the autumn.
We headed up Balkello hill a climb of just over 410m. Quite steep and boggy in places but well worth the effort. At the top the views are stupendous. A full view of the city and over to Fife on one side and over to the Cairngorms, capped with snow on the other side. This shot is straight from the camera - I wish I could have caught the whites of the mountain peaks more.
We had a picnic lunch on the side of the hill, sheltered from the wind. It was hard to believe it was the first week in January. The dogs had a ball romping through the heather. My thighs are still tingling from the climb. A good day out
Home and a wee spot of cava is in order :)
Have a fab evening blippers x
