Mirror, mirror

Today was 'our Christmas' as being the wife of an Emergency Services employee does not afford us much time together. You get used to spending nights, weekends, special occasions and attending social functions alone but it is particularly hard when they work right through Christmas and I am not relishing a Christmas alone. Not a life I would have chosen but I guess you work with what you have.

So today we planned a packed day ( exhausting packing in everything you need to do into the short time you have!). We started with a visit to the Christmas Adventure at Stockeld Park. It was stunning weather which was a good start! Lauren and Tom also had the day off so could spend some family time with us which was lovely. Loved the Enchanted Forest walk where Lauren found this mirror from Snow White. It showed her reflection and not the wicked witch so she reckons she is 'the fairest of them all'. :-)
We weren't impressed with the shop or cafe - bit dirty, noisy and expensive so we ended up in a lovely cafe in Wetherby instead.

Anyway - it wasn't Christmas Day but as good as it gets :-)
