Pineapple
Spent the morning dismantling the greenhouse. Replaced the glass with plastic panels to make it wee boy proof but they just kept popping an a stiff breeze never mind Hurricane Bawbag; there is still quite a bit of intact glass panes, standard size, free to a good home. Pick up only!! Site will probably be filled with another shed for the bourgeoning bike collection.
After that it was time for a walk. Got booted and suited and headed off to the Pineapple for a wee wander. Storm damage was in evidence (though not to the Pineapple itself) with quite a few trees down. Luckily none of the sequoias in the avenue were affected more than the odd branch down, but there are quite a few trees on the path that will need cutting and clearing. They'll keep someone warm next winter....
Took the 50D and X10 out with me for a wee bit side by side. As expected the 50D is superior but I'll tell you what, you need to do some pixel peeping before it gets serious. If I had an L lens on the front of the 50D then it would be far more obvious. Still, I'm more than happy with it still.
There's a lot of gooey mud on the paths if anybody is going up, and ignore the sign saying car park closed, though it is a bit limited du to a fallen tree and a portacabin for NTS's wall repairs.
