Yes, well, uhuh

I have virtually nothing to say about today as I have managed to do very little except damage a choclate Santa beyond repair. After that my achievements and observations for today are all on the functioning but not really living level.

Last night however, we went out for dinner with B, A + A. B told his story about how he managed to fall into the Rhein* the other day. Although he didn't have the strength to pull himself out (his boots were filled with water and his clothes were waterlogged - "Hoffnungslos" as he put it), he found the presence of mind to locate his mobile, phone home and announce that he was stuck in the water and he would appreciate it if someone from the house could come down and lend him a hand.

I don't know about you but I suspect I wouldn't be as calm as B. I've been mulling that story in my head all day. Gives me the jitters every time - especially when I replay him saying "Hoffungslos". Brrr. I'm so glad he's OK.

* to explain, B+A live on an island in the Rhein and going home necessitates using a boat. At the moment, the river is most definitely high and there's a fair amount of fast flowing water around. It only took one slip...
