Same spot, different sunset

A few clouds today and not quite as hot as it has been. Only managed a coolish 34 degrees C.
Work has been taking up too much time. The firefighting season is upon us and we can't make our firefighting units fast enough (I work for a company that manufactures firefighting & agricultural equipment).
Why is it that people only check their firefighting equipment when they see smoke???
