Trying out Gorillapod
My daughter and son-in-law gave me a lovely suprise at Christmas - a Gorillapod Tripod and tonight was the first chance I have had to try it out. I have never used a tripod before so I didn't really know what I was doing:(
I also left it a bit late to get down to the boat ramp and it was dark but I managed to hook the gorillapods bendy supports around the rail on the jetty which was brilliant as there was nowhere else to set it up. Amazingly it hooked on really well thankgoodness as I was a bit nervous about losing the lot into the river. I could have gone over to one of the picnic tables but they were in a really dark spot and, as I was on my own, I wasn't too keen on doing that.
I didn't stay long as the mossies were eating me alive, even though I had sprayed myself with aerogard before leaving home.
I just took a few random shots and this is what I got - nothing special but I was quite pleased for my first, rather rushed, effort. I tried doing a moon blip also when I got home but that was a failure - will have to work on that one.
Thanks J & A.
