Historic industrial chimney, Stone Edge
A restoration of the oldest chimney of its type in the country, dating from 1770. The setting is on the moors above Chesterfield at a lead mining and smelting site. A series of lakes or reservoirs were built nearby for the water supply which are now very attractive features.
Seen on a trip with my brother which included Sutton Scarsdale Hall and Ashover village and church. There is a lack of such historic sites in the Chicagoland area.
