A grand old lady......

.... still stands proudly while so many of her peers have succumed to the storms that hit Scotland over the last few days. (Why do we tend to speak of trees in the 'female' - is it because they are things of beauty?)

The estate has lost many ancient outstanding trees, fortunately though there has been no structural damage and everyone escaped injury. We were without electricity for three days but the old 'jenny' kicked in and saved the day.

Everything back to normal now, electricity supply restored and wind abated for the time being.
