Horseshoe fungus?
This morning's sunset was low key cheery, but nothing worth blipping. The sky was reasonably clear with a few clouds but this soon deteriorated into the customary grey we have all come to know and .... put up with. Today the snowy hills were again totally hidden under the grey mantle and I am just so glad that I seized the opportunity yesterday to make the most of a good day.
It was still very muddy underfoot but as the grey sky manifested itself merely as a soft mist it was more fleece weather than waterproofs - so that made a good change. During the walk I was on the look out for potential blips and each time I stopped for a shot, Cara and Bruce dashed back to investigate. They are so nosey! I eventually decided to choose this one of quite a large fungus growing on a wonderful old mossy tree stump where the moss has even encroached onto the back of the growth too; I believe it is a horseshoe fungus, but am happy to be corrected. Needless to say that Cara bounced in on the act but was distracted by something at the base of the stump and proceeded to dig her way to China, shortly accompanied by Bruce.
