Paisley museum

The free library was built in 1871 because Paisley Philosophical Society established in 1808 wanted their collections of books and artefacts stored for the benefit of the towns people. The money was donated by Peter Coats a thread manufacturer. Later an extension was added ( not included) which is now the library. The original building seen here is the museum and art gallery.
