The real thing

Being an old romantic, I quite often buy my wife flowers. Ok, I confess they are usually from the supermarket, and recogniseable as such. But for special occasions - in this case a birthday - there is no substitute for the real thing from a real florist.

I remember the first time I bought real roses from the real florist, because they lasted about two days (just in time for photographs). These however have been much longer lived and were still ok after two weeks. They're five days old in this photograph. Not that their longevity is the main factor - it's their beauty and the thought that count!
