I'd been planning this since at least a year ago.
I learned that some things just don't work out.

Some things just don't work out.
Some things do.

This was my hotel room.

Destinations are important. Otherwise people could go on forever on these roads, to anywhere, just traveling. Aimless. Spotted the sign for a roadside park 3 am somewhere north of Oscoda in the pouring rain. The pouring rain. And I could hear the waves:

Lake Huron, three hours later, sunrise.

Because I've really never seen the ocean.
Tawas Bay reminds me of Flagstaff,
like anyplace I can wander early morning.
