RUNNING AGAINST THE TIDE
The only shot I got today, chugging up the hill to my trusty car, hunkered down under my waterproof jacket and hood and wearing waterproof leggings over my work clothes. Some may scoff at work at my unfashionable attire but I arrive dry, not smelling like a wet dog, and for goodness sake, if I've worked there for 17 years they must realise I am eccentric.
This was the road on the hill to my car, where I will admit (to you) that I found great satisfaction in clearing the blocked drains of leaves and twigs and rubbish with my booted foot. I don't know that I was allowed to do that in my childhood but it was jolly good fun ...... and obviously I was performing a service to the community. Though thinking back, I was caught doing the same thing some time ago by a man who muttered "We've got the council to do that". Well, yes, but they can't be everywhere all of the time, he wasn't going to do it, and anyway ..... I enjoyed it!
