pretty flamingoes

I thought these flamingoes gathering together made a great pattern of pink, like an abstract painting. They constantly moved around creating different graphics and mixes of colour.
Shot this during a day spent at Flamingoland zoo, part of a large theme park in North Yorkshire, where they are holding their annual stocktake of animals. As the park and zoo is currently closed to the public, it was great to be able to go anywhere , with the zoo manager, photographing anything I chose.
While BBC film crews get 3 months to shoot 30 seconds of footage, I had about 3 hours to shoot 30 photos! not a huge rush, but quite tiring, with my kit bag, long lens, and concentrating hard on the animals to catch the moment.
