Aftermath

On this improbably lovely afternoon (people looked shocked to see the blue sky) we found devastation in the grounds of Castle Toward. This huge evergreen - and it's the evergreens that have suffered, with their heavy heads on long slender trunks - had snapped near its base, and now lies over the path of the assembly area at the back of the former residential centre.

And the sound of chainsaws was heard in the land ...
