Winter Life

As I was finishing up a three mile hike today, I discovered these miniature roses in a residential neighborhood. Despite their small size, miniature roses are extremely hardy. In fact, they are more winter hardy than most tea roses. Miniatures also tend to be profuse repeat bloomers. It was a lovely surprise to encounter such beauty on an otherwise glum day.
