......my brand new shoes....

New shoes for work! Went for the classic brogue this time...I hate men's shoes they're so bloody boring. Was going to buy a pair of cowboy boots but the Boss said "How old are you, don't be silly!"

We got soaked to the skin walking from the car to the shops...today has just been more howling wind and driving rain...will it never end...it's starting to get on my three pennies now!

Update on the hole front....this morning a lorry turned up at 8.00 with two blokes......and they tarmaced the road! Then they buggered off leaving the six foot by three foot barrier around the repaired patch.

A fourth lorry turned up at about 5.30 tonight and took away the barrier...that took three blokes....so the entire job has taken 9 days and involved four lorries and 11 blokes! No wonder water, electricity and gas are so expensive!

Christmas has now left the building...the Boss and I removed the tree(s), took down the lights, poured all the left over chocolates into one tin, put all the cards in the recycling and re-arranged all the furniture...it's like it never happened. Still, statistically, the next one is less than 6 months away....the last one was just over 1 week ago, the next is just under 50 weeks away.....1+50=51 didvided by 2 is 25.5 weeks= less than six months, so on average Christmas is always just over 6 months away!
