Can I Sing a New Song?

Ok so admit it, most of us who make news years resolutions to be somehow better, thinner, faster, stronger, calmer, generally more amazing don't make it past first base. It can be depressing, somehow we find ourselves stuck with who we are.

I'm wondering how much of our story we get to write ourselves.

I used to play guitar and sing, but I don't think I've strummed through more than a verse for over a decade. My kids remind me every year about the news years resolution I made a decade ago to sing and play more, only to not play at all that year.

Benji my youngest who is a cool dude, guitar playing, legend type got out my old guitar, bought some new strings and restrung it for my Christmas present this year. I'm struck by his belief that maybe I can play and sing again.

So I'm going to try, and maybe I'll not just turn back the clock, but sing a new song,true to me, but somehow more than before.
