A very pleasant surprise

To tell you the truth the New Year break was a wee bit of a disappointment. What with the foul weather, me getting the cold and finally doing something to my back it didn't quite live up to expectations.  In fact we were feeling a wee bit fed up.

Imagine then how we felt arriving back in Bellaburgh, through yet another storm and finding the usual pile of junk mail behind the door.  But, tucked underneath the flyers for the latest curry house and insurance renewals we found the two envelopes peeping out. 

"Who do we know in China?" "Who do we know in Paris?"

Intrigued we opened them up and discovered that two groups of our chums had unexpectedly sent us greeting cards from their neck of the woods.

Just what we needed to cheer us up.
