Mother and Child

It's a natural human trait to anthropomorphise. I see a tree and often its shape will suggest a personality. It's quite ridiculous, of course, but it's almost impossible not to make these kind of associations in one's mind and be swayed emotionally by the surface appearance of things. Some trees have an instantly appealing personality and the notion that this mother tree is sheltering its offspring from the prevailing winds and weather quite grabbed me. Just as well really because on another awful day of weather, with more very strong winds and rain, I have absolutely nothing else in my blip bag today.

This was actually taken in Northcliffe Park as I took a roundabout route to the office from the station this morning, knowing that I would likely not get any other chance to get out in the light today. You can see the rain sweeping in from the west and it soon got very damp indeed. It captures the feel of the day pretty well.

Posting this quickly as I'm about to dash out for an impromptu blipmeet with Yearofhappy and PaulFS. Not met Mr.Covered in Bees before. I shall report back. His blips are wonderful.

Finally, thanks for the very kind words yesterday. I don't really consider myself as an old steam engine. A bit of artistic license was applied for dramatic effect. I actually think of myself as positively turbo-charged! Although, of course, I may be kidding myself.
