Two years ago today my lovely father-in-law passed away. On the day he died I went and took a photo of the sunset, I decided then that I would try and take a photo of either the sunrise or the sunset every 4th January, if I was able to.

So here is todays sunrise - I was unable to go out and photograph it somewhere better than our back garden as Sam had to go in to work early this morning and I obviously couldn't leave the kids on their own. I was going to leave it til the sunset, but after a quick glimpse out the window I liked how the sunrise looked behind the tree at the back of the garden.

So this ones for you, rest in peace Alexander Pllu McNicol.
