A walk to remember
I was dealt some very sad (though expected) news today, and it's for this reason that the blog has suffered considerable upload delays of late. I've managed to take a photograph every day, but pushing for high-quality images hasn't really been a priority. As it write this, it's the 1st of January 2012, so I have a fair bit of catching up to do.
My godmother Fiona conceded a draw in her battle with cancer this morning (Boxing Day). I say draw, because she passed away, but it was very much on her own terms. I can't honestly say that she lost her fight. She was given an estimated six months, but soldiered on for almost four years, with her children giving her a series of milestones which included a wedding and three births. She reached every one of them, and this year she was determined to have a family Christmas. She was a determined woman to say the least, and I will be one of many who miss her as if she were my own blood.
My fiancée and I digested the news with a walk this morning. This photo is my simple effort at soldiering on.
