Gotta Love the Dove
When I left to meet my doctor this morning at 7:30 a.m., it was 16 degees F. My chihauhau looked at me with the big eyes. "Please put a second sweater on me!! Plus...how about a cap and some booties?" She hates this weather as much as I do.
Now...at 12:30 p.m., the temperature has climbed all the way up to 19. Ohhh...heat wave!! 19 dastardly degrees!! Add the wind...and it becomes a dastardly 9 degrees out. Chilly, and not the kind you can eat.
I went upstairs to the babys room, and looked out into my backyard...hoping for a deer, an elk, a wolf, or a bear. HA! I hit an o-fer. 0 out of 4. I guess I would settle for a chickadee, a blue jay, a titmouse, or a squirrel. That went much better. I got 3 out of 4. The squirrel walking across the telephone wire almost made the cut. Their balance is amazing!
The dove made a landing and took a walk across my sunroom roof. They are far down my list of favorite birds, although I like their expressive eyes, and you gotta love the way they coo-coo- ca-choo. (That last part was not part of their speaking...I just sneezed.)
The cold snap is supposed to last one more day. It makes me want to head south.
