Mill Little Megalithic Complex

A strange day, most of it seems to have been spent eating. We have just returned from Annie's where we enjoyed a post Christmas dinner with the wwoof (world wide workers on organic farms) Ireland team. Annie is the manager of the site which himself designed and once helped run. I'm the newsletter editor and our party also included Rob (website), Jenny (admin) and Dick (finances). Annie lives inland in the Coomhola valley, in a very scenic and remote spot. We ate extremelywell - nutroast and the works, followed by mince pie and some very artisan(!) goats' cheeses from Cavan which tasted a lot better than they smelt!

I then dragged himself off to look at this megalithic complex which I knew was not far away - poor boy, the gales were fierce and it was perishing but he did have to admit it was interesting. The fields around here are littered with interesting things - we passed some boulder burials before coming on this lot. I've given a wide view so you can see all the interesting bits and pieces. I think what you're looking at are a number of burials - a boulder burial in the front and another with the big round stone in the background, and to the right of that a chamber burial. Up on the hillside is another massive stone and this may either be another burial, a marker or possibliy the stone circle which is meant to be lurking. We thought at first that this was the circle but it doesnt make much sense. Biggifying is essential.
