C15 stone carving of a gentle face
This is one end of a garland above the effigy of one of the Lord Berkeleys lying near his tomb in Bristol Cathedral.
Various names were given to successive Berkeley males to distinguish them - The Feudal, who became a monk; The Magnanimous; The Wise; The Just and The Resolute. What a family they must have been!
