Casualties

after surviving the pre-christmas amusingly-named 'hurricane' intact and upright, after a few hours of today's winds my greenhouses moved swiftly from the vertical to the horizontal. bit of a bugger - they are full of overwintering fuschias, lavender and oddments, which will probly have to be part repotted after their adventure, plus being weighted down (not sufficiently, it seems) by some pots of bulbs which are now shedding compost all over the yard. :-(

indeed yes, if it's the worst that happens to me this storm that'll be a mercy, and many people have lost far more in terms of property, injury and in one case life. so i'm not complaining any more, promise.

hope you all managed to avoid trampolines, wheely bins and other assorted flying debris that lives on in infamy on the internet...
