Another Sad Day
Today has not been a good day. There were very high winds during the night and torrential rain all morning, but fortunately we have not suffered any damage. My grandchildren had a non-pupil day today before returning to school tomorrow so the plan was to do something on the last day of the holidays. I had not been at their home for long before the vet telephoned, Twiggs, Oliver's cat had been in a traffic accident and had been taken to the vet; unfortunately he did not survive.
Mr A lost a filling over Christmas and a crown was in danger of coming off. The town was very busy and so he parked on a friend's drive. Unfortunately, in a hurry not to be late for his dentist appointment, he did not park straight in the parking bay, as he normally does and parked diagonally. When he drove out later he misjudged the low wall, which you cannot see from the driver's seat and so now we need a new door on the passenger side of his car!
This afternoon the sun came out for a while and as we buried Twiggs, there was a rainbow and then a very heavy hailstorm; definitely another sad day. This picture shows the dull clouds and a small glow to the west; nearly a sunset.
