Mid-winter Mid-day Moon

Well, not actually mid-day, nearer 2.30pm! But that wouldn't have fit into the title nearly so well...
This morning had been - to put it mildly - horrible, grey with horrendous winds and frequent very heavy downpours. But by lunchtime things changed (apart from the horrendous winds unfortunately) - the rain stopped, the clouds parted and we were greeted by beautiful blue skies. So I decided to get myself out for one of my lunchtime walks - the only thing I've missed about being at work over the Christmas period quite frankly. I already had a blip in mind from home, but decided to take my camera with me anyway - as I've learned already, you never quite know what you might see, do you?
I was glad I did - walking back across the car park to the office I noticed the moon clear in the sky already. A few strides more and I noticed how it was framed so nicely by the branches of one of the trees - I needed to get back into the office pronto so no time to stop there and then, but I decided to pop outside later, take a few shots and see what they came out like.
And I decided on this one as my blip (with a little tweaking from the editing tool)
