What has happened to my tree?

I have taken quite a few blips at this end of the garden. There are several under and around this tree. But only one, I think, (from 13 months ago) actually shows the size of the tree.

No more!

It came down this morning, at the height of the gale (the third in 8 months, each of which has been among the strongest in living memory).

Luckily, no damage has been caused, but Jess & Molly are assisting Mrs jml and her sister with the inspection. Molly in particular liked to lie under this tree - she will now have to find another spot!
