Cascade
Wahey - off work tomorrow for my first fishing trip of the year. - up to fish for salmon on the River Dee in Aberdeenshire. It's probably my favourite of the big salmon rivers in Scotland. Fantastic scenery, wildlife and the river itself has a friendly sort of feel to it.
There's a great feeling of anticipation the night before a fishing trip wondering what you might encounter....A big fish, a monster fish, slipping and falling in, what kind of sausages to have for lunch...
Most people's response when I tell them I'm off fishing is 'how boring' or 'I'd never have the patience'. - Try imagining wading down an icy cold river in some of the most peaceful beautiful places, the sound of the water, sharing a pool with an otter, feeling the feeling when a big fish grabs your fly and having a barbeque by the river for lunch with a few glasses of something warming, and you are only half way there.
Out of blip range for a couple of days probably, so have a great weekend.
6am start(!) - sorry if I don't hang around for long...having trouble keeping up with this blip frenzy.
(the pic is a salmon fly called a Cascade)
