6.03 am, bondi beach

well, one of my New Year's resolutions was to get up with M's alarm at 5.30am. so, while he was running up the hill to the train station this morning for work, i was skating down to bondi.

and what a beautiful sunrise rewarded me as i drew closer. i snapped this at 6.03am from the promenade. i'm interested to find out who this group running onto the beach from the surf lifesaving club are. i quite fancy joining them!

back to work today. but the skate before work and the run along the beach after work eased the pain of being back in an office on a sunny, hot day when the masses were still feeling the sand between their toes on bondi beach.

i rather like this scene - far more serene than yesterday's crowded beach later in the day. well worth the early rise.

i still can't quite get used to the sun rising over the ocean, as opposed to setting over the water.
