Path to clear my head

Another day in Portimao, managed to get a room in Lagos to stay the night before we headed back to Barlavento to be with D.
We spent the first few hours in the town before going to the hospital as we had to meet the staff at the British Consulate for advice on what we should do next. They are a fantastic team and I can't praise them enough as they were sooooo helpful and friendly.
Armed with information about the local cancer charity shop for donations of belongings and International Undertakers, we made our way back to the hospital where we spent the remainder of the day beside D, talking, reassuring, remembering and having to plan for the next few potential difficult days ahead.
When the drugs were wearing off, he knew we were there, though this meant he was really sore and distressed. When he was settled, he was stoned!
The staff were kind and supportive and thankfully they could speak English which helped as we couldn't speak a word of Portuguese. They were very patient with us and D which was great. A mixture of hand gestures, broken sentences, smiles and shrugs got us through the majority of communication challenges.

Tomorrow is the day where I need to prepare even more..............

This hill was across from where we stayed, a climb to the top, helped clear the mind in the morning before the trip to the hospital?.
