First walk of the new year

...wearing her new wool coat.

Which isn't for warmth, actually. Fiona is a mix of border collie and sheltie, and has pretty thick fur. The new coat is really for calming her. She is a bit of a nervous walker. I think that the sensations of sight and sound and space all at once make her somewhat insecure. I'd read about "thunder blankets," which are coats that are tightly snugged around a dog to help them with a fear of thunder; she has no fear of thunder, but we thought a coat such as this one might help calm her on walks. We also think it makes her look awfully cute.
