Honesty

Today we spent a peaceful afternoon at Barnsdale Gardens, near Oakham, Leics, which used to be Geoff Hamilton's BBC Gardeners' World garden. Highlights of the day were the absence of people, cloudless winter skies, sunlight on the Silver Birches and Cornus, and delicate witch hazel blossom emerging in sulphurous yellow and burnt orange.
Now home again, I can smell kedgeree cooking for dinner. Hoping to go to The Poacher for a pint afterwards too.
